All Braintree Sixth Form IB students are currently involved in the planning of a project that involves creativity, action and service (CAS).

Creativity is interpreted broadly to include activities that involve creative thinking, the aim of Action is to promote lifelong healthy habits and involves anything physically exerting and the element of Service requires students to understand their capacity to make a meaningful contribution to their community and society.

Ana Meredith, Chloe Nash, Daisy Longden, Rebecca Taylor, Kirsty Reynolds and Francesca Perin along with A Level student Emma Smith have been responsible for the Braintree’s Got Talent Event that was held at Braintree Art’s Theatre on Wednesday 16 July. Together, the group organised the booking of the event, the auditions for potential acts, sponsorship and prizes, advertising for tickets, development of programmes and the staging of the whole show. The show consisted of acts including magicians, singers and dancers from schools across Braintree and was a fantastic evening of entertainment.  All money raised from the show will be donated to the Sixth Form charity, Education for All, a charity that helps girls from remote areas in Morocco access a secondary and post-16 education.

Adriane Jackson has been involved in the EssexFest music festival. He has been responsible for setting up one of the stages and will DJ at the festival that takes place at Orsett Showground in Brentwood on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 of July and raises money for Prostate Cancer UK. Adriane says “it is good for ‘action’ as I will have to lug around and set up a huge amount of equipment, it involves a lot of creativity because I am creating new music and putting together a whole new set and it is service to a charity that is very close to me’’.  The event also features artists including Wizkid, Ms Dynamite and Misha B, so this is an amazing achievement for him.

Well done to all the students for all their CAS contributions.
